Bebek Goreng H. Slamet

Thigh fried duck, bebek gongso (stir-fry duck), sambal korek, drinks, some vegetables, and rices
This warung (small restaurant) is quite popular in Jogja. It has some branches and is part of the waroeng group. It sells fried duck and sambal korek. Do you know it? Yes, it's warung Bebek Goreng H. Slamet! Two days ago I came to one of the branch at Kolonel Sugiyono street with my wife. Let's go!

The front part of the warung
The warung opens from 11:00 AM (01:00 PM on friday) untill the food is finished

A lamp in the warung
It's quite big and has green colour theme. The warung has a meeting room and musholla in it. There is lesehan (without chairs) area and smoking area if you want.
Menu
You can buy a full body duck, duck head, rempelo ati (liver and bile of the duck), duck claw, and fried chicken. There're also coconut water, plain/sweet tea, orange juice, lemon tea, mineral water, teh botol (bottled tea), and some jamu tradisional (traditional drink made of herbs): gula asem, beras kencur, and kunir asem.

There're some types of duck: original (fried), gongso, remuk (crushed), and sambal ijo (green chili). We ordered a bebek gongso (stir-fry duck) breast, a fried duck thigh, three rices (what?), an orange juice, and a plain hot tea. Let's eat it!
All the foods we order (except one rice)
Sambal korek
The sambal korek is so spicy and so tasteful! I think it has an oil that was used to fry the duck. It doesn't used tomatto, maybe just chillis (cayenne), garlic, salt, and oil. They said the sambal is special, I think it is. Even I can eat the sambal korek with only rice beacuse the taste is quite strong. You can buy extra sambal korek (separated from the duck). And you have to prepare alot of drink if you want to finish it 😜.

Fried duck (original duck)
The thigh of fried duck is so tasteful! The food is the special menu here. The flavour is strong and deep to the meat; it's not sweet like many foods in Jogja. The food matches with the sambal korek (spicy)-it's one package with the food. The fried duck has strong smell. And it's so delicious in my mouth! I think the duck has a long cooking process. It has good texture (the skin isn't tough & the meat feels smooth) and brown colour on the meat. Nice! Maybe the best fried duck for IDR 23K in Jogja. FYI: the fried chicken is delicious too, I have tried it before.
Bebek gongso (stir-fry duck)
The bebek gongso has red colour from the soup. The meat and skin feels so tender. I can crush the tulang rawan (cartilage) easily. It has alot of oily sambal in it but not so spicy. The meat is wet and has white colour. I think it has the same cooking process with the fried duck (except hasn't been fried).

They separate the rice & charge it IDR 5K perportion, IDR 6.5K for an orange juice, and IDR 2.5K for a plain hot tea. The fried duck & the stir-fry duck are cheap. But many others are expensive compared to the usual prices. The total cost was IDR 83K. The price is a little bit tricky. I'll just buy the duck and bring it to home latter. Haha.

I like all of the three foods: the fried duck, the bebek gongso (stir-fry duck), and sambal korek. These all are delicious! I like the bebek gongso, but I like the fried duck better. You can give your opinion or ask me about these foods in the comment section bellow.

That's it for today, guys. You can read some articles last week (there are martabak telor+martabak manis and oseng-oseng mercon). Thanks for coming to IndoliciousFoody! And wait for the next post! Follow my instagram (IG) at dahlanrizky
